An Evening with Chloe Gong and Alix Harrow: Fantasy and Intrigue

  • 1302 North 3rd Street Harrisburg, PA, 17102 United States (map)

The Harrisburg Book Festival is honored to host New York Times bestselling fantasy authors Chloe Gong and Alix E. Harrow for a discussion on their new novels: Immortal Longings (Gong) and Starling House (Harrow). Gong and Harrow will be in conversation with author and literary agent Eric Smith.

This event is free and open to the public; no registration required. Seating is general admission; first come, first served. A book signing will immediately follow the conversation. Purchase of the author’s new book from the Midtown Scholar Bookstore is required for entry to the signing line.

About the Books:

Inspired by Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, Gong’s new novel, Immortal Longings, is a stunning, fast-paced collision of power plays that follows two lovers in a deadly contest through the crowded streets of San-Er. Full of bloody battles, a rich cross-cultural atmosphere inspired by 1990s Hong Kong and ancient Greece, and a scorching romance, Immortal Longings is Gong’s triumphant adult debut.

A gorgeously modern gothic fantasy, Harrow’s new novel, Starling House, is the story of a dying town and the people left living there. It’s Opal’s search for a home, for a life, for anything other than what she was born into. Alix E. Harrow’s second novel is a “knife-edged” tale of sinister forces “as sharp as its protagonist.” (Kat Howard)
